About us
Unio is a document workspace for the agent era — your sources, your draft, and every AI or agent edit as a change you review and accept.
From track changes
to review rails ✦ Unio
“Delegate work, not understanding.” – Guillermo Rauch
Unio AI was born out of frustration with the inefficiencies of AI writing tools. I frequently used ChatGPT and Claude but found copying, pasting, and tracking changes cumbersome. I wanted a seamless experience—toggles for conciseness, quick yes/no responses, and effortless change tracking.
Initially, I thought it would be a simple weekend project, but building an intuitive AI writing tool turned out to be a much bigger challenge. Inspired by Granola's aesthetic and the vision of Pieter Levels and Pat Walls, Unio AI is more than just an editor—it's a space for inspiration, structured writing, and collaboration.
Today Unio is bigger than an editor: a library for source documents and data rooms, extraction that keeps its receipts, and one review inbox where AI — and your own agents — propose while you decide. The frustration it answers is still the original one: work you can't trace is work you have to redo.
“We're not just building another AI tool. We're creating a space where writers can think freely, collaborate seamlessly, and produce work they're proud of.”
Our Mission
We believe AI should propose and humans should decide. As more of the work gets drafted by models and agents, the scarce thing isn't generation — it's review you can trust. Unio is built around that: every change traceable, every claim sourced, every edit yours to accept.
- 01Keep humans the deciders — every AI or agent edit is reviewable
- 02Never weaken provenance — claims trace to their sources
- 03Minimize friction between thinking and shipping
Whether you're writing memos, reports, or research — or reviewing a data room with an agent at your side — Unio helps you move faster without giving up authorship. The work stays yours; the AI just has to show its receipts.
Refine your writing. Effortlessly.
AI-powered clarity, seamless revisions, and focused editing — built into a single workspace.
Proposals, not overwrites
AI and agents suggest edits as reviewable changes with proof attached — you accept or reject each one.
Answers with receipts
Ask questions over your sources; every claim cites the document and page it came from.
Distraction-free editor
A focused, minimal editor with citations and track changes built in.
The Power of
Feedback & Editing

“Writing is Thinking, and Thinking Clearly is Hard.” – Paul Graham
I often wonder how much more productive my writing could be if I weren't paralyzed by writer's block. Sometimes, I spend months collecting content, only to lose the spark when it's finally time to write. Writing feels like a puzzle—easy to start but difficult to complete.
I was lucky to have friends who marked up my papers, teaching me how small edits could significantly improve my work. In grad school, a professor's red-pen feedback reinforced this lesson. The process of thinking I had finished an essay, only to receive pages covered in corrections, was humbling but invaluable.
I've always appreciated track changes—it helps bridge the gap between our thoughts and polished writing. Unio began as an AI-powered track changes tool, and that instinct held: today every edit—from Unio's AI or your own agents—arrives as a tracked change you accept or reject. The rest of the platform grew around staying focused—especially for those, like me, who struggle with ADHD. Even small friction points can lead to procrastination, and Unio aims to eliminate them.
